Overview

Why is FlightRecorder the right choice for my app?

FlightRecorder saves time and money with clear, fast and cost-effective insights, while at the same time creating enhanced customer intimacy. It produces actionable feedback from your own users without interrupting their day-to-day flow (as pop-up surveys do). Together these make your app a key contributor to your digital and ecommerce success.

How do I get started?

First, if you haven’t already, create an account–no credit card needed. https://flightrecorder.pulselabs.ai/sign-up. Once you've created an account, or if you already have an account, sign in. Navigate to the “Apps” page, https://flightrecorder.pulselabs.ai/apps and add your app (using “new app”). Request and get an API key, which enables activating the SDK. Download the FlightRecorder SDK and embed it in your app. https://flightrecorder.pulselabs.ai/download-sdk

How does FlightRecorder work?

It’s simple. You add a snippet of code to your app. This SDK turns on a rolling video-recording of in-app activity in the background.

When your user experiences an issue or wants to share an idea for an improvement, they shake their phone, take a screenshot, or hit an on screen button. That saves the previous 15 or 30 seconds of screen activity and pops up a short questionnaire.

The video and the answers are then sent straight to your teams in real time. The video lets you see what activities led up to the shake, providing unmatched granularity and no lag. And that drives quick actions to improve your app UX and drive your business.

How do my users use FlightRecorder?

Flight recorder can be triggered one of four ways. These triggers are configurable by your team. Once triggered, FlightRecorder saves the last 15-30 seconds of video and prompts your users to answer a few configurable questions, including whether they triggered to report an issue or to share an idea.

Currently available triggers:

  1. Shaking their phone

  2. Taking a screenshot

  3. Embedding a capture button in your app

    • Your team can add a floating action button or put a button within your UI that triggers the capture.

  4. Event based triggers within you app

    • App developers can trigger a capture based on any event or action within the app. App users still need to actively submit the recording.
